Worth the Trip

A Regional Destination for Professional Bike Fitting

Riders travel to Fit-Lab in Piermont from NYC, northern New Jersey, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess and Sullivan counties, Fairfield County, the Hudson Valley, Albany and Saratoga Springs for professional bike fitting.

From refining a performance position to addressing complex fit concerns or choosing a new bike, our approach brings the rider, footwear and bicycle together as one system.

Rider First

A Fit Built Around the Rider

We work with recreational cyclists, experienced road riders, racers, triathletes, gravel and mountain-bike riders, cyclists returning from injury, and riders whose mobility or goals have changed over time. The position should reflect how you move, how you ride, what you want from the bike, and what your equipment can realistically support.

Measure What Matters

A Biomechanics-Driven Fit Process

Fit-Lab combines cycling expertise with a background in critical care, Functional Movement Screening, corrective exercise and foot mechanics. Multiple fitting and assessment tools are available so technology can be selected for the rider rather than forcing every rider through the same protocol.

Depending on the goals of the session, tools may include a GURU dynamic fit bike, 3D motion capture, thermal imaging, real-world movement data and other objective measurements. Technology provides indicators; the fit is built from the complete rider and bike picture.

Experience & Education

International Bike Fitting Institute, Level 4

IBFI Level 4 represents one of the institute's highest levels of professional accreditation and requires extensive education, demonstrated fitting experience and peer review.

Jason's background also includes work as a pedorthist, NASM corrective exercise and strength & conditioning education, Functional Movement Screening, and serving as a Masterfit University instructor in foot orthosis construction.

The Pedal Interface

Cycling Foot, Shoe & Cleat Assessment

Your connection to the pedal starts inside the shoe. We evaluate the foot and footwear as part of the complete cycling system, not as an isolated accessory.

Assessment may include shoe sizing and shape, arch and forefoot support, cleat fore and aft and lateral position, rotation, stance width, pedal interface, wedges or lifters, and how those choices influence stability, knee tracking and force transfer.

Smarter Equipment Decisions

Buying a New Bike? Fit First.

Modern bicycles increasingly use integrated cockpits, proprietary seatposts and limited adjustment ranges. Establishing your target position before choosing a frame can help identify which bikes and sizes can realistically support your position. Fit-Lab is independent of any one bicycle brand: determine what works for the rider first, then evaluate the equipment.

Common Questions

Bike Fit Questions We Hear Often

Do I need to be a racer to benefit from a professional bike fit?

No. We work with riders across experience levels. The position should reflect your goals, anatomy, mobility and the way you actually ride.

Can you help with foot numbness, hot spots or cleat-related discomfort?

Yes. Footwear, foot support, cleat position, stance width and pedal interface are evaluated as part of the complete fit when relevant to the rider.

Should I get fit before buying a new bike?

Whenever possible, yes. Pre-purchase positioning can establish target coordinates used to compare frame geometry, cockpit options and adjustment limits before you invest in a bike.
